Patricia Young, a seasoned landscape artist, has been leaving her artistic imprint across the Mid-Willamette Valley for decades. Her work, ranging from the sign at Roto-Rooter Park in Keizer to the World Beat Festival logo, has become a familiar sight for thousands. But her latest endeavor, a vibrant outdoor mural on the wall of Los Dos Amigos in Keizer, marks a significant milestone: her first outdoor mural. This piece, a colorful postcard-style depiction of local landmarks, has received an enthusiastic response from residents, who praise its ability to capture the spirit of Keizer. Young's journey into outdoor mural art is a testament to her adaptability and her passion for art education. She has taught Paint & Sip Workshops at Chemeketa Cellars, fostering a love for art in beginners and reinforcing her belief that anyone can create art, regardless of drawing skills. Young's latest project, a 50-foot-long mural in Jefferson, commissioned by the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce, is set to begin as soon as September. This expansion of her artistic horizons, from indoor to outdoor murals, showcases her versatility and her commitment to pushing artistic boundaries.
