Sergio Perez's Emotional Team Radio Message After Cadillac F1 2026 Shakedown
Cadillac has released a heartwarming video of Sergio Perez's special team radio message to the team at the end of its F1 2026 shakedown. This momentous occasion marked the first laps of the 2026 car at Silverstone.
The former Red Bull driver and six-time F1 race winner, Perez, was at the wheel for this historic milestone, with his teammate Valtteri Bottas observing. In a touching gesture, Cadillac has shared Perez's heartfelt words with the team.
In the video, Perez exclaims, 'Guys, I'm incredibly proud of all of you! This is a truly special moment for the Cadillac F1 Team. Let's make history together. Thank you, guys.'
Perez's enthusiasm is infectious, especially after his prolonged absence from the track during the 2025 season. He expressed his excitement, stating, 'Today was truly amazing. Everyone should feel incredibly proud to have completed our first laps as a team. It's emotional to be part of motorsport history. We can and should enjoy this, but it's ignited my passion for more. I can't wait to get back in and rack up the mileage.'
Valtteri Bottas, also returning to full-time competition in 2026, shared his thoughts, 'As a team, we made history today with the Cadillac Formula 1 Team car taking to the track for the first time. Checo's first laps were smooth. I'm proud of the entire team for reaching this point, which is truly remarkable. Being part of this moment and witnessing the team's joy was special. Our first day is over, and now we move forward.'
Cadillac's all-black livery at Silverstone will be replaced by a unique color scheme for the first official pre-season test in Barcelona next week. The team's names will be seamlessly integrated into the design. The test will take place at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from January 26-30, with each team limited to a maximum of three days of running.
The team will then unveil its race livery for F1 2026 in a Super Bowl ad on February 8, followed by the final two tests in Bahrain. For the latest F1 news and exclusive insights, join our WhatsApp broadcast channel and subscribe to the PlanetF1 YouTube channel.
